Slam!  Crack!  Pop!  These were the sounds I heard at the baseball games my family went to this summer.  I went to one night game and one day game.

The first game I went to was during the day in Colorado.  The Rockies played.  While we were there, I ate French fries with ketchup.  I saw a few home runs, and I got a hat and a shirt with one of the best center fielders, Charlie Blackmon’s name on it.

The other game I went to was at night in Charlotte, North Carolina.  I was there with friends and family.  We had Dippin’ Dots and French fries.  I also had one of the practice coaches give me a ball that the team used to get ready for the game.

Both of these games were awesome, and I will never forget this summer.

Where My Feet Went This Summer

My family was driving to Charlotte, North Carolina.  We got there the day after.

My family arrived at the house.  We all loved it there.  We ate some dinner because it was so late.

I wish we could have stayed longer because we love it there.  I hope we get to go there again soon.

We saw lots of bunnies and deer.  We climbed the Great Sand Dunes.

We went to a Knights game with our family.  We all wished they would hit us a fly ball, but they didn’t.  They gave us one though.  Then we left.

It’s Okay

It’s okay to be different.

It’s okay to cook dinner.

It’s okay to play baseball.

It’s okay to like chicken noodle soup.

It’s okay to build Legos.

It’s okay to do math.

It’s okay to go to school and to play with my friends.

It’s okay to explore the woods.

It’s okay to play soccer outside.

It’s okay to read some books.

It’s okay to play video games with friends.

It’s okay to help.

It’s okay to play basketball.

Yes, it’s okay to be different.

Welcome to your blog. This will be a place where you will post pieces you have written. The audience for your writing will not only be students in your own classroom; it will include students in other elementary classrooms as well. Other trusted adults will comment on your writing, making suggestions that will help you to become a better writer.

Always post good writing to your blog. When you post comments about others’ writing, please be considerate and respectful as well as helpful. Treat other online members of this project the same way you would treat them if they were right there in the room with you.

You may not give out personal information, like your name, address, phone number, email address, or family information, to anyone – not even to other members of this project. When you work online on the internet, like we will be doing, it’s important to your safety that you keep personal information about yourself private – even if someone else asks.

If you ever see or read anything on your blog or someone else’s blog that disturbs you or makes you feel uncomfortable, please lower the lid on your computer and tell your teacher right away. She will know how to help.

Finally, be sure to let your parents know about this project. Every day, talk to them about what you’re doing and what you’re learning. They will be interested to hear about your new experiences!
